I’ve recently taken up swimming laps at the local YMCA as part of my “attempt to stay healthy” routine. I find it has the right combination of necessary concentration (you know to keep from drowning) and the ability to completely day dream at the same time. It may sound weird, but swimming laps for an hour or so helps me ponder the deeper meaning of life. You can roll your eyes. I don’t care 🙂 I come up with great ideas to share here, so I think of it as a win win. I get exercise and a mental break, you get to read the results at your own leisure. Some people have shower thoughts, I have swimming thoughts!

So, here is my first Swimming Thought of the Day:

As a stay-at-home mom, your job is to take care of your family. The last time I checked, YOU are part of your family. So take care of YOURSELF. When you take care of yourself, you are taking care of your family.
